How to get test results
You can log into your NHS App to get your test results.
If you haven’t registered yet, you can use the link below to download the NHS App. Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. This means that we can only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given permission or are not capable of understanding them.
We will contact you by telephone, or by letter, only if a result is abnormal and you require treatment or further investigations. You will not be contacted if your result is normal. If you wish to enquire about the results of your tests please submit an Online Consultation Form or call us after 2:00pm. The Reception staff will give results to you or you may be asked to speak to the nurse or doctor. Adults results will not be given to anyone other than the patient, except in exceptional circumstances.
Test results include, blood tests, X-Rays, CT Scans and many more. Please be aware that some of these test results will not be available until at least 6 weeks after the test has been done.
You can also view these results through Patient Access. Please contact Reception if you require any help with this.
How long does it take to get my test results?
When you attend a test of any kind, you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Blood test results usually take seven days to get back and be checked by your GP. If there is anything that needs discussing further, your GP will call you as soon as they get the results back. If there are no problems with the results, then you will not be contacted.
