We are seeking a motivated and compassionate GP to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is a permanent GP position for 2-4 sessions per week.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-established practice with a strong team spirit.

Our practice aims to run as efficiently as possible with excellent admin and IT support (EMIS).

There is a culture of learning through regular clinical meetings, opportunities for developing knowledge in specialist areas and being involved in research projects.

Main duties of the job

Key details

  • Mixture of telephone and face-to-face consultations with regular breaks
  • EMIS Clinical System
  • Semi-rural practice with stable population
  • Buddy system for checking results
  • Protected admin time pro rata - 1.5 hours for 6 sessions weekly
  • Daily clinical huddles and continuous support for advice via Microsoft Teams

In accordance with the practice rota, to undertake a variety of duties to include:

  • Surgery consultations and queries
  • Visiting patients at home
  • Duty doctor and emergency on-call cover
  • Checking and signing of prescriptions and dealing with associated queries
  • Preparing medical reports for insurance companies, employers and statutory bodies
  • Dealing with paperwork and medical correspondence in a timely manner

Our practice aims to run as efficiently as possible with excellent admin and IT support (EMIS).

We care for 14,500e patients, our team includes ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists and Physiotherapists.

We are a Park Run practice, interested in the environment and individual wellbeing. We have a garden and an active social team.


Job description

To provide medical services to any patients on the practice list and to temporary residents in accordance with the practices Personal Medical Services (PMS) contract, ensuring the highest standards of care.

The post holder has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults in line with the NHS Trust's safeguarding policies and procedures.

They must ensure that they are aware of, and work within, local and national safeguarding legislation, guidance and procedures. The post holder will be required to attend mandatory safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to act at all times to protect the safety and well being of patients, service users and colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential

  • Full registration with GMC
  • Inclusion on the GP Performers List
  • Able to demonstrate up-to-date CPD
