A summary of mental health resources to help all patients. 

Emergency Mental Health Contacts:

  • Adults: 111 – Select option 2
  • Children: CAMHS emergency helpline - 0800 9539599. Help and support is available for health and care professionals, young people, families and carers (living in BNSSG) 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. This line is only for use in emergency.
  • Life-threatening situations for both adults & children: 999

Children and Young Adults Mental Health Advice and Support

  • Happy Maps - A comprehensive Mental Health Hub for advice and information about mental health for children and young adults (up to the age of 25). Includes advice for parents/carers as well. Contains links to available counselling and courses. It covers a range of mental health topics including:
    • Anxiety
    • ADHD
    • Low mood (including self-harm and suicidal thoughts)
    • Behaviour problems
    • Internet safety, social media & gaming
    • Autism
    • Bullying
    • Eating disorders
    • Sleep
    • & many further topics
  • South Gloucestershire Council - Parenting courses
  • Free Digital CBT available in BNSSG area for children aged 13 + or carers of children age 5+: Self refer here
  • Report Remove - Report Remove is a childline service. It helps young people under 18 in the UK to confidentially report sexual images and videos of themselves and remove them from the internet. 

Adult Mental Health support

  • For Mental Health support available in South Gloucestershire click here
  • NHS counselling: patients (over the age of 16) can self-refer to Vitaminds. You can also phone 0333 200 1893 to start your referral.  Opening hours: Monday – Wednesday: 8am – 8pm. Thursday – Friday: 8am – 5pm. 
  • Health and Happiness Hubs: for people with a long-term health condition who want to make positive changes to improve their health and happiness. There are 5 hubs located in Yate, Thornbury, Cadbury Heath, Kingswood and Bradley Stoke. Click here for more details.
  • OneYou: Free healthy lifestyle and wellbeing service for anyone over 18 who is a South Gloucestershire resident.
  • Well Aware: Provides information on a wide range of organisations, support groups, community groups, events and activities that can help improve your health and wellbeing in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
